About Me

I am currently a graduate student at Trinity University, studying hospital administration. I fell into the field through a lot of research. After spending two years in Africa on a church mission, I realized a lot of what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I had business acumen, and wanted to do something that mixed that skill set with an opportunity to do something meaningful. I had a few people, my wife included, mention hospital administration, but I immediately refrained from pursuing because I come from a family of "fainters", and was worried I would have to see more blood than I could handle. In hopes of pursuing a different career I attended a seminar taught my a friend's dad, who is a dentist  and was teaching continuing ed classes to other dentists. He kept mentioning how some dentists go bankrupt right after they graduate from school because they struggle to manage the business associated with owning a practice. I realized the opportunity I had to have a career that I wanted. After meeting with a lot of different administrators, I found one common theme. Almost all of them said, if they had to choose a career again, they would all be hospital administrators. It all started from there. Now after a 3 month internship, and a year of grad school, with a few side projects, I am excited to start my fellowship in Houston this coming January.
